It's All Mental

May 27, 2020

Addiction and gaslighting can go hand in hand. In fact, addicts are experts at methods of gaslighting.  If you are unfamiliar with the term gaslighting is when a person manipulates someone else mentally, and can lead to the point where the victim begins to question their own sanity.  One of the many methods addicts can do this is by wearing people down with continual harassing.  Much like water dripping on a rock will eventually wear away at the rock, so the persistence of addicts or gaslighters can wear us down mentally.

In this episode I dive into the four main tactics addicts use to gaslight the people around them and how we can be on the lookout for these tactics.  It is crucial to understand how addicts work, because often we are too close to the situation to see the big picture of what is going on, or why they are treating us the way that they are.  I hope to shed light and make sense of an often difficult subject in today’s episode.
